Description

Bragantino is Monteraponi's pure Sangiovese from a steep vineyard above the estate hamlet in Radda in Chianti. The parcel occupies land previously planted with olive trees and faces the Baron'Ugo hillside. Its vines originate from selected Cepparello material, propagated in Burgundy before planting. The name recalls Michele Braganti's childhood nickname, while the label pays tribute to a painting cherished by his father. This Gran Selezione therefore combines a distinctive viticultural decision with a family memory, followed by extended wood maturation that forms an important part of its journey from vineyard to bottle.
