Description

Le Pergole Torte is Montevertine’s pure Sangiovese, first produced in 1977 in Radda in Chianti. Grapes are selected from the estate’s historic vineyards for a project that has placed this variety at the centre of its identity from the beginning. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentations take place in concrete. Maturation combines Allier barriques and Slavonian oak casks before rest in bottle. Alongside the wine is a recognisable artistic dimension: the labels reproduce Alberto Manfredi’s female portraits, which have become closely associated with the cuvée’s history and appearance.
