Description

Montresor’s Amarone della Valpolicella Riserva 2013 is a DOCG red wine made from Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella grapes from the historic Valpolicella hills. Grapes undergo winter drying (appassimento); fermentation is followed by extended ageing in large oak barrels—Montresor indicates at least six years for the Riserva. It shows an intense garnet colour with aromas of ripe red fruit, spices, tobacco and cocoa; the palate is full-bodied and persistent, pairing well with red meat, game and mature cheeses.
