Description

Moric’s Lutzmannsburg Alte Reben comes from a selection of old Blaufränkisch vines around the village of the same name in Burgenland. The landscape is a plateau with sand, clay and loam soils, partly over a limestone subsoil. Parcels are harvested and vinified separately before blending. Spontaneous fermentation and maturation in wooden casks accompany a process without fining. The reference to old vines identifies the cuvée’s core: a selection rooted in place that brings together several plots, keeping Blaufränkisch and its origins in Lutzmannsburg at the centre of the wine.
