L'Opiniâtre is the Grand Cru vintage Champagne of Mouzon-Leroux, growers in Verzy on the Montagne de Reims, made solely from Chardonnay. It ferments spontaneously in wood, rests 66 months on its lees in bottle and is not filtered. The 2016 is broad and structured, with mineral and yeasty notes and a long finish.
