Description

Illusion is the Pinot Noir of Mythopia, Romaine and Hans-Peter Schmidt’s project on the alpine slopes of Valais. The steep vineyards are cultivated as diverse environments where trees, shrubs, flowers and grasses coexist with the vines. Organic management and vegetative soil cover accompany the work on biodiversity. In the cellar, fermentation relies on microorganisms from the grapes, without selected yeasts or added sulphites. The wine matures for an extended period in old oak barrels and is bottled without filtration, maintaining a direct connection with farming practices and the time allowed for development.
