Produced by Domaine Nicolas Rossignol, this Volnay 1er Cru Clos des Angles is made from Pinot Noir grown on small parcels between Volnay and neighboring Pommard. The principal plot is a triangular, small vineyard on the southern edge of the appellation, planted on clay-limestone soils with stones that promote balanced ripening. On the palate it is typically fruity and well-balanced, with soft, enveloping tannins and a texture that makes it enjoyable even when young.
