Description
Olivier Pithon's Laïs Rouge takes its name from the estate's Jersey cow and originates in the landscape around Calce. Carignan and Grenache Noir, joined by Mourvèdre, form the core of this Roussillon cuvée. The vineyards lie mainly on clay-limestone and marl soils, with a proportion on schist. Soil diversity accompanies the search for balance between fruit, freshness and tannins. The wine represents the red side of the Laïs family, with an approach that emphasises the varieties and their origins within the estate's local landscape.
