Description

Contrada R is a red wine from Passopisciaro made from 100% Nerello Mascalese grown in the Contrada Rampante vineyard at roughly 1,000 m on Mount Etna's northern slopes. The century‑old vines are hand‑harvested; fermentation occurs in stainless steel followed by 18 months' ageing in large Slavonian oak casks. The 2024 vintage is a small‑production bottling (about 4,146 bottles) and the estate practises organic viticulture. The wine shows lively acidity, pronounced minerality and fine tannins, typical of high‑elevation Nerello Mascalese.
