Petrussa’s Merlot Riserva comes from Prepotto in the Friuli Colli Orientali, using the oldest vineyards owned by the family. Merlot arrived in this area from France in the late nineteenth century and gradually established a lasting place in local viticulture. The selection focuses on historic parcels and their expression of place. The profile is powerful and austere, accompanied by fine spicy nuances that characterise Prepotto’s interpretation. The cuvée belongs to the work of Gianni and Paolo Petrussa, continuing a family farming tradition developed over three generations.
