Description

Clos des Goisses comes from a walled vineyard in Mareuil-sur-Aÿ overlooking the Marne and distinguished by particularly steep slopes. Its southern exposure encourages grape maturity, while chalk close to the surface supports the site’s identity. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are selected for a cuvée that Philipponnat interprets through power and freshness. Part of the vinification takes place in oak, and malolactic fermentation is avoided to preserve natural acidity. Extended time on lees completes a process designed to deepen the wine’s complexity while keeping the character of this single hillside clearly expressed.
