Description

Philipponnat’s Grand Blanc 2018 is a pure Chardonnay Champagne made from the first pressing of grapes from Premier and Grand Cru vineyards. Its origins include Avenay, Chouilly, Oger, Vertus and Trépail. Winemaking combines tanks, with partial malolactic fermentation, and wood, without malolactic fermentation, followed by extended lees ageing. The nose recalls citrus peel and elderflower, then pastry and fresh almond. The texture is creamy and fresh, with citrus, citron and a hint of liquorice. The finish retains persistence and an iodine-like impression that extends the wine’s expression.
