Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey's Les Ancégnières is a white Chassagne-Montrachet from old vines planted in 1930 beside Bâtard-Montrachet. The cuvée combines breadth and mineral character with suggestions of pear, lemon zest and flowers. It belongs to work begun by Pierre-Yves with Caroline Morey after his experience at his father's estate, where he was responsible for winemaking from 1994 to 2005. The use of larger wooden vessels and extended maturation accompanies the house's approach to Chardonnay. A reference to place remains central to this Côte de Beaune expression.
