Poggio di Sotto’s Riserva begins with a decision made during the maturation of Brunello. The cask that best expresses elegance and individual character is selected for additional time in wood before bottling. It is a pure Sangiovese produced only in suitable vintages. Selection also considers the vineyards’ different responses: higher, stonier parcels and lower sites containing clay and galestro offer different possibilities depending on the season. The Riserva therefore brings together a process of observing individual vineyards and following their wines as they evolve in the cellar.
