Palafreno is Querciabella's pure Merlot, from its best vineyards in Greve in Chianti, bottled only in the finest vintages; the name recalls the medieval parade horse. It macerates about 18 days in oak vats and ages about 18 months in new and used barriques. The 2021 is full and velvety, with ripe red fruits, spice and balsamic notes.
