Description

Nacional Vintage Port originates in a small parcel at the heart of Quinta do Noval, where the vines grow on their own roots. Its name evokes that direct connection with Portuguese soil, without foreign rootstock. Declaring a Nacional follows an assessment independent of the estate’s other Vintage Port, so the two selections do not necessarily appear in the same years. Vinification uses traditional granite lagares and foot treading. The house attributes this Port’s identity primarily to the origin of its grapes and the distinctive character of that particular vineyard.
