Description

Pajé is Roagna's historic vineyard in central Barbaresco, acquired by the family in 1953. The hillside forms an amphitheatre opening towards the Tanaro valley, with southern and southwestern exposure and limestone-rich marl soils. Nebbiolo is hand harvested and selected before fermentation in wooden vats, started with indigenous yeasts. Submerged-cap maceration and extended maturation in neutral oak and concrete define the cellar approach. The producer associates the calcareous component with the wine's structure and capacity to develop over time, giving this Barbaresco a close relationship with its distinctive hillside and the family's history.
