Description

Roberto Voerzio’s Barolo Sarmassa is made entirely from Nebbiolo grown in a south-facing vineyard in the territory of Barolo. The cuvée’s first harvest was in 1998. Vineyard management restricts the amount of fruit produced per plant, while fermentation takes place in stainless steel. Cellar work follows the estate’s approach of spontaneous fermentation, oak maturation after malolactic fermentation and bottling without filtration. This selection gives Sarmassa an individual interpretation within the range, keeping the place of origin and the fruit harvested in the vineyard at its centre.
