Description

Rodaro Paolo’s Merlot Romain comes from estate-grown grapes in the Cividale del Friuli area, on marl and sandstone soils locally known as ponca. The vines are trained to Guyot, and the wine belongs to the Friuli Colli Orientali designation. For both the 2017 and 2018 vintages, grapes were allowed to overripen naturally in small crates placed in a drying room. Fermentation in stainless steel was followed by maturation in French oak barriques. The result is a dry red with concentrated substance, black-fruit and sweet-spice notes, and a soft, velvety texture.
