Description

Rodaro Paolo’s Refosco Romain comes from Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso grown in estate vineyards at Cividale del Friuli. The Guyot-trained vines root in ponca, a combination of marl and sandstone. For the 2018 vintage, grapes were allowed to overripen naturally in a drying room before fermentation in stainless steel. The wine then matured in French oak barriques. Its bouquet includes fig, cloves and pepper, with suggestions of eucalyptus, vanilla and cocoa. Dry, warm and full on the palate, it has a persistent finish that carries the spicy character of the wine.
