Description

Ronchi di Cialla’s Schioppettino di Cialla comes from the Cjastenet and Roncjs vineyards on the slopes of the Cialla valley in Prepotto. The soils alternate Eocene marl, marly sandstone and carbonate components. Grapes are harvested and selected by hand. Fermentation with indigenous yeasts involves extended maceration and regular pumping over, followed by French oak maturation and bottle ageing. The profile recalls white pepper, currant, blackberry, woodland and balsamic notes. On the palate, the fruit is accompanied by savoury character and ripe tannins, with a supple, well-defined texture.
