Description

Ronco Severo’s Refosco comes from Prepotto and is made entirely from Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso. Vines grow on ponca, and vineyard work includes hand pruning and harvesting alongside green-manure cover crops. In the cellar, the wine follows Stefano Novello’s artisanal approach: extended skin contact, frequent punch-downs and subsequent pressing of the skins. Maturation takes place in Slavonian oak casks in contact with the fine lees, before bottling without filtration or fining. This interpretation of a historic Friulian grape forms part of the estate’s exploration of the relationship between variety, soil and tradition.
