Royal Tokaji’s 2017 Gold Label Tokaji Aszú 6 Puttonyos expresses the sweet, concentrated character of grapes selected with noble rot. Harvesting of the aszú berries began in September and continued through autumn; October’s morning mists, afternoon sunshine and drying winds encouraged their development. The aromatic profile shows orange peel and spices, while citrus and peach emerge on the palate. Richness is supported by vibrant acidity, with a long, balanced finish. Structure, freshness and the presence of botrytis define this expression of the vintage within the tradition of Tokaj’s sweet wines.
