Description

Appius grew from Hans Terzer’s plan to harvest selected vines separately within Appiano’s historic vineyards. Its first vintage was 2010. This San Michele Appiano cuvée is based on Chardonnay, joined by Pinot Blanc, Pinot Grigio and Sauvignon, and is reinterpreted with each harvest. Fermentation and maturation take place mainly in small wooden barrels, followed by further ageing on fine lees in stainless steel. The bottle’s design also changes over time, accompanying the development of a wine collection whose successive editions express the original project.
