Description

La Bogliona is a Barbera d'Asti Superiore from Scarpa in the Monferrato area. It shows a deep ruby color with an intense bouquet of ripe dark fruit—plum, blackberry—and notes of cherry, leather and underbrush. On the palate it is full-bodied and structured, with mature tannins, pronounced freshness and a long, mineral-tinged finish. The wine ages about 32 months in French Allier oak casks, followed by additional rest in stainless steel before bottling.
