Description

Königsberg is an expression of Uwe Schiefer's Blaufränkisch from southern Burgenland. The vineyard faces southwest and has calcareous soils, distinguishing it within the mosaic of sites interpreted by the producer. Schiefer favours an essential approach to cultivation, allowing plants to grow between the rows and working attentively at key moments in the vineyard. In the cellar, spontaneous fermentation and slow maturation on the lees in wooden barrels accompany the pursuit of wines that clearly convey their origins. The cuvée centres on the relationship between grape and place, reflecting a measured and precise approach to winemaking.
