Sine Qua Non’s 2021 Eleven Confessions Grenache comes from the vineyard of the same name in the Sta. Rita Hills. Acquired in 2000, the property is the winery’s first estate vineyard and one of its coolest sites. Grenache forms the dominant part of the blend, complemented by Syrah, Petite Sirah and a small proportion of Viognier. Vinification uses a substantial proportion of whole bunches. The wine matures for thirty-eight months in French oak demi-muids, some of them new. This extended time in wood distinguishes the Eleven Confessions selection from the winery’s other interpretations of Grenache.
