Description

Solo per Amore expresses Carlo Mondavi and Giovanna Bagnasco’s project in Diano d’Alba, an amphitheatre of vines surrounded by woodland. The 2021 red combines Dolcetto, Nebbiolo and Barbera, vinified parcel by parcel and blended before maturation. A substantial proportion of the grapes is fermented as whole bunches, followed by eight months in oak casks. The technical sheet describes red cherries, small berries, woodland and herbs, with a suggestion of wet stone. The wine places Piedmontese varieties and the estate’s attention to biodiversity at the heart of its identity and production approach.
