Description

Zirlo is the Merlot in Spolert’s Premium range, from a small estate in Prepotto in the Friuli Colli Orientali. Vineyards surround the property, connecting the house’s work with the landscape of the Judrio valley. The cuvée spends time in barriques as part of the maturation programme devoted to this selection. Its aromatic profile recalls plum and blackberry, with nuances of cocoa and sweet tobacco. The palate has a velvety feel, supported by ripe tannins and a savoury finish. Zirlo joins the estate’s interpretations of native grapes in exploring the different expressions of Prepotto’s hills.
