Description

Spottswoode Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2023 comes from the estate vineyard on the western edge of St. Helena in Napa Valley. Alluvial clay-loam soils on the Sulphur Creek fan and cool breezes encourage even ripening. The blend includes Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The wine matures for twenty months in predominantly French oak barrels, with a small proportion of Hungarian oak. Its colour is deep; the nose offers fresh blackberries, dark red berries, anise and cocoa. Structured but ripe tannins support a juicy palate that extends into a persistent finish.
