Description

El Cerrico is Bodega Cerrón's white wine from an old Airén vineyard in Fuente-Álamo, in the highlands of Jumilla. The vines root in limestone soils containing marine fossils, reminders of the site's geological history. Harvesting is manual, and fermentation begins with indigenous yeasts in earthenware vessels, drawing on a local cellar tradition. The wine belongs to the Cerdán family's project of combining experience with inherited vineyard knowledge to give individual parcels their own expression. Warm days, cool nights and limestone form the setting for this distinctive interpretation of an established local grape.
