Suertes del Marqués’s Vidonia is a dry white from the Valle de La Orotava on Tenerife, made from Listán Blanco. Old, ungrafted vines are trained in the traditional cordón trenzado system, which braids their long branches along the row. The volcanic soils contain a clay component. Fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts, and the wine matures in previously used oak vessels. Its name recalls the dry Tenerife whites exported between the seventeenth and nineteenth centuries, connecting the cuvée with the island’s history of viticulture and wine trade.
