Description
Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs 2013 is made exclusively from Chardonnay grown in the five Grand Cru villages of Avize, Chouilly, Cramant, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger and Oger. Its late harvest, extending into October, followed a year of slow ripening. The chalk of the Côte des Blancs lies at the heart of Taittinger’s interpretation of place, while ten years in the cellars accompanied the cuvée’s development. The house describes ripe citrus and pastry notes supported by a precise structure. The palate retains energy and tension, finishing with savoury nuances of ginger and liquorice.
