Tarlant’s Argilité 2015 brings together Chardonnay and Meunier in equal proportions from the Notre Dame lieu-dit in Celles-lès-Condé, in the Vallée de la Marne. The slope faces south above the confluence of the Surmelin and Dhuis rivers, with Lutetian limestone subsoil containing lignite. The vines come from a massal selection planted in 1987. Spontaneous fermentation and maturation of the wine on its lees take place in amphora, without malolactic fermentation or fining. Subsequent bottle ageing on the lees precedes disgorgement and release without dosage.
