Description

Spìule is Tenuta di Angoris’ Chardonnay in the Riserva Giulio Locatelli selection, dedicated to the man who acquired the property in 1968. Its name refers to the Friulian verb spiular, meaning to gather ears of grain left in the fields after harvest. Grapes come from the Friuli Colli Orientali, on ponca soils. Winemaking separates a stainless-steel component from one fermented in tonneaux, where malolactic fermentation also takes place. The components mature separately before blending and a further rest in bottle. The cuvée thus explores Chardonnay through the combination of steel and wood.
