Description

Vigna del Sorbo is Fontodi’s Chianti Classico Gran Selezione made entirely from Sangiovese. Its namesake vineyard faces southwest and is planted with mature vines trained to Guyot. Fermentation begins spontaneously with indigenous yeasts, while skin contact continues for more than three weeks in stainless-steel tanks. The wine then spends twenty-four months maturing in French oak, using both barriques and larger casks. This production approach centres on a single grape variety and a clearly identified vineyard, with stainless steel and wood marking successive stages of the wine’s development.
