Description

Terrazzi Alti Sassella is a Valtellina Superiore (Sassella) produced by Azienda Agricola Terrazzi Alti of Siro Buzzetti. It is made mainly from Nebbiolo (locally called Chiavennasca) with a small proportion of native Rossola and Pignola, grown on the terraced slopes of the Sassella subzone at roughly 420–600 m above sea level. Winemaking follows soft pressing and spontaneous fermentations with indigenous yeasts; the wine is aged in large oak casks for about one year and then given additional bottle ageing.
