Description

Pofadder is a red wine made from Cinsaut grapes grown in Riebeeksrivier within the Swartland district. Production typically uses a portion of whole clusters with the remainder destemmed, an extended skin contact fermentation, basket pressing and maturation in old neutral foudres for roughly 11–12 months, with bottling from fine lees. Aromas show delicate red fruit and floral-oriental hints; the palate presents fine tannins, a linear acidity and subtle mineral-earthy undertones.
