Description

S.ALT 99 (2019) is a white wine made entirely from Solaris grapes grown on the Hof Gandberg estate in San Michele/Appiano (Südtirol) at about 520 m elevation. Winemaking includes roughly three days of skin contact, spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts and initial maturation in neutral 1000 L large casks, followed by further aging in stainless steel; the wine is bottled unclarified and unfiltered. Aromas of apricot and yellow-fleshed fruit combine with nutty and mineral notes; the palate is full-bodied, rounded and finishes persistently.
