Description

Vrana Petra is a pure Xinomavro from a single Thymiopoulos parcel within the Naoussa appellation. The vineyard occupies an amphitheatre-shaped slope on the edge of Trilofos, at around 200 metres above sea level. Limestone is accompanied by quartz and schist, while Mediterranean air and currents descending from Mount Vermio moderate the warm climate and encourage marked differences between daytime and night-time temperatures. Vinification uses indigenous yeasts and a proportion of whole bunches, followed by maturation in previously used French oak. The cuvée thus relates the grape variety to a specifically identified place.
