Description

Schwalbenschwanz is Andreas Tscheppe's skin-contact wine from Goldmuskateller, a variety the producer brought from Alto Adige to his vineyards in southern Styria. Contact with the skins in large barrels contributes to its amber colour and a tannic presence unusual in a wine made from white grapes. The importer describes an intensely aromatic character, with bitter orange, wild herbs, dry spice, and smoky, mineral nuances. Produced in small quantities, this cuvée brings the variety's expressive strength together with the texture of skin maceration, while retaining a connection to its origin.
