Van Zellers & Co.’s CV Curriculum Vitae Douro Red comes from a single old vineyard in the Torto valley. Numerous traditional varieties grow together, forming a field blend that preserves the Douro’s diversity. Grapes are hand picked and selected, destemmed and transferred to granite lagares. Foot treading accompanies extraction during fermentation. The wine then moves into French oak for malolactic fermentation and maturation. The cuvée is built around the vineyard’s identity and the joint processing of its grapes, retaining the individual characteristics of each harvest through this approach.
