Van Zellers & Co.’s VZ Douro White takes shape from old vineyards around Murça, in the cooler, mountainous part of the Douro. The blend includes traditional varieties such as Viosinho, Rabigato, Códega, Gouveio and Arinto, grown in vineyards that retain considerable diversity. The wine has a citrus and floral profile, with suggestions of lemon peel and lemon leaf. A mineral element accompanies its freshness and intense persistence. Combining the different parcels gives continuity to the cuvée, which can develop further nuances as it evolves in bottle.
