Description

Derthona is Vietti’s Timorasso from vineyards around Monleale, on the clay and limestone soils of the Colli Tortonesi. The must is divided between stainless steel, wood and ceramic vessels, and the wine subsequently rests on its lees without undergoing malolactic fermentation. Aromas recall pear, peach, acacia and hawthorn blossom, accompanied by hints of honey. The palate is dry and broad, with acidity providing support and a savoury finish extending the flavour. With development, mineral and petrol-like nuances can emerge, reflecting the estate’s interpretation of this distinctive Piedmontese white grape and its capacity to evolve.
