Vignai da Duline’s Morus Nigra is devoted to Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso and comes from Lorenzo Mocchiutti and Federica Magrini’s work in Friuli. The cuvée connects red-clay and limestone soils with sites of marl, sandstone and limestone flysch. Grapes are harvested by hand and selected before vinification. Fermentation occurs naturally in oak vessels, followed by maturation in small barrels. The project preserves its connection with a local grape variety, placing it within a careful interpretation of different vineyard origins and the continuity of the vines that produce the fruit.
