Description

Vigne del Malina’s Merlot comes from Orzano di Remanzacco, where medium-textured soils contain abundant alluvial gravel. The Guyot-trained vineyard is devoted entirely to Merlot, and its grapes are harvested by hand into crates. Following vinification and malolactic fermentation, the wine matures in wood and continues resting in bottle. Ruby red in colour, it has a bouquet shaped by red berries and spices. A savoury character on the palate is accompanied by a clearly defined tannic structure. Slow-cooked red meats and game are the pairings suggested for this substantial expression of the variety.
