Description

Costa del Vento is one of the single-vineyard selections through which Walter Massa explores Timorasso in the Colli Tortonesi. The plot lies around Monleale, faces west and combines clay with calcareous soils. Its vines were planted in two stages, in 1990 and 2004. Massa’s work has helped revive this local variety, drawing attention to its concentration and capacity to develop over time. His Timorasso selections are not matured in oak, keeping the character of the vineyard and the substance of the grape at the centre of each separate bottling.
