Description

Almaviva’s EPU 2023 is a Chilean blend dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, with Carménère, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Early harvesting helped retain fruit and acidity during a very hot, dry growing season. The grapes connect Puente Alto with the Carménère’s origin in Peumo. The wine spends twelve months in French oak, with a small proportion of new barrels. Its profile suggests blackcurrant and red berries, followed by vanilla, earth and herbs. The palate is juicy and rounded, with supple tannins and a persistent finish of liquorice and ripe strawberry.
