Description

Vincent Bouzereau's Volnay combines parcels from different named sites inherited through the maternal side of the family. Pinot Noir grows on the lower slopes, facing south and southeast, on clay-limestone soils. Hand harvesting is followed by sorting, destemming and fermentation in open vats with indigenous yeasts. Cap punching and pumping over accompany extraction before oak maturation. The general character emphasises delicacy and fruit: ripe small red berries and a light, supple, balanced palate. The cuvée therefore maintains a connection between the vineyards' family origins and the village appellation's identity.
