Description

Vincent Paris's La Geynale comes from a fully south-facing slope in Cornas. The parcel belongs to a site where the first vines were replanted in 1910 after phylloxera; Paris purchased it from his uncle Robert Michel in 2007. Old vines and exposure allow whole-bunch vinification, followed by twelve months in used barrels. The wine shows density, richness and power while retaining freshness. Dark fruit meets a mineral element, and clearly present tannins support a structure intended to soften and develop with time.
